Chelsea don’t play until Monday night, so it’s a bit of slow “news” end of week and weekend — or whatever passes for “news” in the over-sensationalized fake news world of football media.
But don’t worry, there’s still plenty of things to get MAD ONLINE about.
Take Álvaro Morata, for example, who has a bad back while also dealing with confidence issues and off-pitch tragedies. He hasn’t played in about a month and he hasn’t scored since Boxing Day, but he has been talking to TV network Movistar+ in Madrid for whatever reason. Turns out that a bad back doesn’t prevent your from talking. Shocking, I know.
(Would you rather he took time away from training and games to give interviews or do them while he can’t play?)
It’s an absolutely un-worthwhile interview of course — at least the part that’s been previewed since the full feature won’t be airing until next weekend — full of the usual fluff that Madrid-based media like to push. The bit that’s making people MAD ONLINE is Morata “hinting” at a Real Madrid return. Shocking, I know. Madrid-born, Madrid-raised, Madrid-academied Álvaro Morata might be open to a return to Madrid. I hope you’re as shocked as I am.
“Obviously I have to respect Chelsea, who made a huge effort to sign me and I’m very happy here. But Madrid will always be Madrid for me.
[EDIT*]

I suppose if you squint really hard after being very happy at Chelsea (and joining to work with Conte and all the stuff he said in the last six months), you might find a hint in there. But if this quotes are making you angry, maybe just relax, turn off the computer, put away the phone, take a deep breath and watch some Olympics or something. Or better yet, go outside and take a walk, go to the gym, have a coffee.
*(Goal also included Conte’s quotes, which initially confused me. They’ve now been edited out)
If you’re still reading, here’s more silliness, this time regarding a potential interim boss should Conte get the heave-ho after the loss to West Brom on Monday. The Times say that Marco Silva, fresh off his disgrace at Watford, ‘could’ (COULD) be ‘under consideration’ for a vacancy that ‘may be’ opening up soon.

Or, you know, not.
