Porto defender Éder Militão keeping ‘calm’ amidst Chelsea, Manchester United transfer links

Clear mind.

In less than four months, Brazilian defender Éder Militão went from a very promising right back at São Paulo’s to a key player in the centre of defence at FC Porto. This has led to speculation linking him with various big clubs in Europe, including Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, this is nothing new, according to his agent Ulisses Jorge, but despite that, none have actually made an approach ... yet.

“All these clubs already had interest in Éder when he was at São Paulo. Since the player moved to Porto, nobody came to me.”

That leaves Éder with a clear mind to focus on the task he has at hand, doing his best to help his team maintain domestic dominance and perhaps make a deep run in the Champions League.

“Éder is very calm, he is happy at Porto and he has no head to think of anything other than Porto.

“When Éder was in Brazil, we had the opportunity to choose and we chose Porto. It’s a very strong club, one of the best to form players in Europe and champions of Portugal. It was with these premises that we decided and it is proved that it was the most correct decision.

“Just look at the case of Casemiro, who left São Paulo, went to Real Madrid, left for Porto and became the player he is today — one of the best of Real Madrid and the Brazilian team. And with Éder I believe it will be the same.”

If all keeps going well, soon enough we will see Militão marching on the pitches of a big club such as Chelsea. But maybe not just yet.
