According to Dutch newspaper De Gelderlander, Vitesse want to turn Chelsea goalkeeper Eduardo’s loan move into a permanent stay for next season and beyond.

The 36-year-old arrived at Vitesse in July, not long after being released then re-signed by Chelsea, and has since become an integral part of the team. He has started all 15 games in the league, where Vitesse sit in 7th place.
Eduardo’s one-year contract with Chelsea will expire in June, which means he’s free to talk with other teams in January, though it would appear that the only team in consideration is Vitesse. Presumably, this was always going to be the likely outcome when he surprisingly re-signed with Chelsea back in the summer. Eduardo would join young Mukhtar Ali from last season in making the rare permanent move from Chelsea to Vitesse.
In his two years at Stamford Bridge, Eduardo made zero appearances in his role as third goalkeeper behind Thibaut Courtois, Asmir Begović and Wilfredo Caballero. The former Portuguese international and Euro 2016-winner however seems to have found a late career home in Arnhem and we wish him all the very best luck this season and for the future as well.
