Christian Pulisic is focusing on football, or at least trying to, especially as Borussia Dortmund now hold a 4-point lead over Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga after the weekend’s 3-2 win over the division heavyweights. Whether BVB can keep this up and win their first league title since 2011-12 and break Bayern’s six-year domination will depend in large part on just how well Pulisic plays.
The 20-year-old — tough to believe he’s still only 20! — American prodigy has been slowed by a couple minor injuries this season, as well as the emergence of even younger prodigy Jadon Sancho, but he remains one of the most highly coveted players anywhere in Europe.
Among his suitors are the likes of Liverpool, Spurs, and Chelsea, with the Blues often said to be “showing most interest”, as the Guardian’s report claims today — as we should.
For Pulisic himself, all this talk is just distraction, but the fact remains that he has just a a year and a half left on his contract and shelved any extension talks indefinitely this summer.
“As you can see, we are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that. Then, when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, then that’s when those things happen. Like I said before, reading these articles [about me], I tend to stay away from that stuff. I know it is going to be there but it is not my priority.”
In a way, it’s a similar situation to Hazard’s at Chelsea, but with the option of staying at BVB for the rest of his career not exactly a realistic one at the moment. That said, Pulisic just wants to concentrate on the season and his football.
“England and the Premier League, it is a league where lots of kids dream of playing, so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here.”

Pulisic and the rest of the US Men’s National Team are currently in West London (training at Brentford), as they prepare for their friendly against England at Wembley tomorrow.
Maybe we should help him look for a new house and let him get to know the area a bit while he’s here? Maybe a chance meeting or two with a well-placed agent at a restaurant or hotel? Where’s Peter Kenyon when you need him?
