Hazard reiterates good relationship with Chelsea, will never sulk or clash with the club

If he leaves, it will be on good terms

Eden Hazard has been a busy man this year. When he isn’t scoring for fun, slaying defenders, and carrying Chelsea or Belgium, he is often giving interviews, teasing and talking about his future. And also about the Jekyll and Hyde nature of a certain Mr. Mourinho. But mostly about his future.

Speaking to Telefoot this weekend, Hazard once again talked about what transpired last summer, and what might transpire in the future.

“Chelsea were clear with me [in the summer]. I couldn’t leave the club. I accepted it. Anyway… leaving or staying, I was going to be happy. I do not regret this decision at all.

“When decisions are made [that you may not like] you can sulk and often you get the last word. But I will never look to clash with the club. Chelsea have given me a lot. I left Lille on good terms and I want to do the same thing here. A transfer in January? It’s not possible.”

It’s certainly good to see that Hazard did not graduate from the same Toy-throwing Academy that Thibaut Courtois and Diego Costa attended. It’s part of what makes him such a lovable player and person. Of course, we should not be taking advantage of his easy-going personality, and get another contract offer on the table post-haste.

Chelsea claim that they’re waiting on Hazard to show some encouragement or commitment to do so, but surely Hazard, who pretty much has all the leverage in this situation, has shown plenty just this summer, not to mention during his six previous years with the club. He says he’s undecided about his future, above all else — Chelsea should be doing everything possible to make up his mind for him and get him to sign that extension. NOW!
