Michy Batshuayi is just one piece of the puzzle involving the transfer-triangle between Chelsea, Arsenal, and Borussia Dortmund, wherein the latter are set to replace their outgoing goal-scorer and trouble-maker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with the Chelsea man who has not managed to truly convince Antonio Conte of his qualities over the past 18 months.
Whehter Batshuayi’s move to BVB is just a simple loan for 6 months, a more complicated loan for 18 months (or 6 with an option to extend), or perhaps something even more complicated (buy option?) remains to be seen. Kicker last night reported that BVB are paying €1.5m in loan fees, which is fairly low, but is only for the first 6 months.

Kicker were also claiming that Batshuayi, who trained with the Chelsea first-team as usual on Tuesday morning, was on his way to Dortmund after that, and that’s been confirmed by our usual go-to man when it comes to Chelsea’s Belgians, HLN’s Kristof Terreur.
Michy Batshuayi didn’t join up with the Chelsea squad yesterday evening. We all know what that means, don’t we? Dortmund bound. Medical + last details to be arranged today. #cfc #bvb pic.twitter.com/CuByjmhQIT

Kicker were also reporting the Aubameyang flew to London on a private jet yesterday to complete his end of the triangle, so now all we need is Giroud to do the same at Chelsea and we can all go home happy.
Or something.
Tick-tock, 15 hours to go.
