Finally completing a move that’s been more or less a certainly since the summer, young winger and, for some reason, wing-back Kenedy has joined Newcastle on loan for the rest of the season. The 21-year-old thus becomes the latest Chelsea loanee on Tyneside and will hopefully get plenty of minutes under Rafa Benitez as they try to stay clear of the relegation zone while ignoring all their front office drama and upheaval.

Kenedy had been ready to leave in the summer, but Chelsea failed to secure the signature of a proper left-back, so the converted winger had to deputize for Marcos Alonso once again ... to decent effect, though trusted only in the early rounds of cup competition.
But Chelsea have remedied that situation with the impending signing of Emerson Palmieri from Roma, which has allowed Kenedy to complete the move. Hopefully it’ll work out better than last season’s 6-month loan to Watford.
Good luck, kid!
