Not long after the transfer window shut in England but before the same thing happened in Spain, Chelsea striker Loïc Rémy has secured a permanent transfer to newly promoted La Liga side UD Las Palmas. According to earlier reports, Rémy was allowed to leave for free after canceling his contract at Chelsea by mutual agreement.

Rémy joined Chelsea on the last day of the 2014 summer transfer window for £10.5 million to serve as a back-up to fellow new arrival Diego Costa. Despite limited time on the pitch, he still managed to score seven Premier League goals during that title-winning campaign.
Hoping to compete for a starting eleven spot at the club, Rémy decided to stay at the Bridge for the 2015-16 season, but unfortunately for him, Chelsea’s collective struggles on the pitch combined with his own injury and fitness issues meant that he barely featured for the Blues. He joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan last summer, but his fitness problems continued and limited him to just a handful of appearances.
Now over 30, he joins Las Palmas to make the best out of the last stages of his footballing career at top level. Rémy finishes his Chelsea career with 12 goals in 47 appearances and a Premier League title.
Best of luck, Rémy! You deserve it.
