Chelsea’s attempts to sign Danny Drinkwater continue trending in the right direction, with a potential replacement flying to England as we speak and confidence growing in the Chelsea camp after a third bid to the tune of £27+bonuses wasn’t outright rejecte earlier today.
Leicester City have tabbed Portuguese international Adrien Silva from Sporting Lisbon to replace the Chelsea-bound midfielder, and he’s been granted a release from the Portugal national team to get this done today.

It doesn’t sound like terms are quite finalized just yet, but surely if he’s flying to Leicester, this deal is pretty likely to come to fruition.
And that’s good news for Drinkwater, since this is what was supposedly holding up his move to Chelsea.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Adrien Silva is flying to England for talks with #lcfc. Could trigger Drinkwater's sale to #cfc. Still work to do

It’s not exactly clear what “work to do” needs to be done, but it might involve a few extra million from Chelsea. At this point, it really is whatever. Just get it done.
Chelsea closing in on a deal for Drinkwater. Confidence now that deal will be done, although Chelsea will have to increase 3rd bid a bit

Chelsea have a little over three hours to get all this sorted. Could it turn into a double swoop of Leicester, with Drinkwater and Mahrez incoming? That’d be pretty hilarious, if unlikely.
