Chelsea continue to assure of at least three more signings this month, but with less than two weeks left in the transfer window, time is quite literally running out to make good on those promise. Given the lack of progress over the past month, it’s becoming fairly hard to see how they could actually live up to them, other than maybe with a bit of major transfer deadline day wizardry.
Still, I suppose they are trying. Here’s Matt Law to report that talks are still ongoing over Danny Drinkwater.
Chelsea held further talks over their latest bid for Danny Drinkwater today. No agreement yet, but work ongoing #cfc

But with Chelsea still reluctant to meet Leicester City’s asking price, it’s hard to see what they could possibly be talking about. Surely, Chelsea, who are looking to eke out a few extra million from the Diego Costa cluster[FUN], could understand how Leicester aren’t going to budge from their valuation of their non-cluster[FUN]-ish midfielder.
Second #cfc bid for Drinkwater worth over £20m is imminent. #lcfc looking for in excess of £30m though. More here: https://t.co/acZxqRwMOx

Previous reports indicated that Chelsea don’t want to spend more than £25m, but Leicester are looking for around £40m. That situation appears unchanged, so what are we talking about again?
