After picking up a hamstring injury that could see him out of contention for up to three months, any potential transfer move for Everton's Ross Barkley seemed to turn into a highly unlikely chance. However, as per a report from the Telegraph's Matt Law, this may not necessarily be the case, as Spurs and Chelsea both remain interested in the 23-year-old’s services.

According to the report, the London rivals are still keen on Barkley due to the opportunity of signing a player like him on the "cheap", at £25 million, though it’s unclear if Everton would truly entertain half-price offers.
In terms of helpfulness for depth and beyond, Barkley could be useful to Chelsea with the bonus of being homegrown. However Chelsea need solutions now it the depth crisis, rather than in three months. Any Barkley deal would need to be made in addition to the actual signings that matter now (Oxlade-Chamberlain? Drinkwater?).
