Deportivo La Coruña offer Diego Costa bridge between Chelsea and Atlético Madrid — report

According to a report from local newspaper La Voz de Galicia, La Liga club Deportivo La Coruña had offered themselves as a loan destination for Diego until the end of Atlético’s transfer ban in January. This would be a similar arrangement to what Atlético had made with Vitolo, who left Sevilla to join the Madrid club this summer and went on a six-month loan stint at Las Palmas.

However, Deportivo cannot afford Costa's wages, so they would require Atlético (or Chelsea?) to subsidize them. Atlético themselves seem to be in no hurry to get their former striker back, and considering that they couldn't register him until January, that's really not that surprising. Plus, the longer they wait, the more likely it will be that Chelsea drop the asking price to something below the £50m that we currently are insisting on.

Since Costa's refusing to return to Cobham to get back in shape and fit to play, a temporary move to somewhere like Deportivo might just be the best option for all involved. Maybe Chelsea could work directly with them while Atlético get themselves in gear to fulfill Costa's dreams.
