After the fallout from his social media posts in China, Kenedy looked set to head out on loan, with reports more or less confirming a done deal with Newcastle United. However, due to the ongoing crisis of depth at Chelsea, deepened by injuries and suspensions, that move has been put on hold.
It’s most likely to be a temporary hold while the club finish signing whoever we’re signing to help out Conte and the players. That’s also the line from Nizaar Kinsella at Goal.com, who says that the 21-year-old is still expected to be sent out on loan, but will remain at the club until (better) left wing-back depth is signed.
Kenedy was one of the seven names named as substitute fro Chelsea’s game against Burnley last weekend, but he did not play, nor is he really expected to play while Chelsea’s schedule remains light through the early season. For his own good, hopefully his loan deal can be completed sooner rather than later.
