There is no word any peace talks from ESPN, like The Sun have sensationally (redundant) claimed yesterday, but Chelsea are still expecting Diego Costa to be back at Cobham on Monday for the start of pre-season. Whether that’s just something we’re expecting on principle — he is still, technically, under contract and nothing looks even close with Atlético Madrid — or something that could lead to a renewed talks and a renewed future together remains to be seen.

Antonio Conte is expected to show up tomorrow (Sunday), with most of the rest of the squad having to report on the following day. Some of the youngsters and fringe players have been back for almost a week now, but Monday is the official start of preparations for the new season.
After a week at Cobham, Chelsea are set to fly out to China on July 18 for this year’s Tour of Asia that will include a game in Beijing and two games in Singapore. Will that group include Diego Costa or any new signings? Stay tuned...
