Hey, a bit of good news this morning as L’Equipe are reporting that after the latest in a long line of delays and frustrations, 22-year-old midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko is finally set to take his Chelsea medical. Then is set to complete his Chelsea medical. And then is set to sign on the dotted line to become Chelsea’s first major signing of the transfer window.

I'm told there was a delay on Bakayoko's medical but that is now scheduled to go ahead and Chelsea will then announce signing #cfc https://t.co/szrPkDzrUH

It’s unclear what the latest round of delays was all about after it seemed like everything had been agree with the player and Monaco as well, but if he does complete his long-awaited signing today or this weekend, those reasons will hardly matter.
What might matter is what effects this will have on the rest of the squad. Manchester United’s gazumping of Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku probably sours relations over any potential Nemanja Matić deal, which in turn could push Nathaniel Chalobah out the exit door. Either way, Bakayoko’s signing could get a few interesting dominoes falling.
And not a moment too soon, with pre-season set to start Monday!
