Izzy Brown had been rumored to be on the sell rather than the keep list at Stamford Bridge over the past few weeks — an £8m move to Huddersfield Town being the hot ticket — but according to Simon Johnson, the 20-year-old will instead join the sign-and-loan group that already includes Kasey Palmer and Tammy Abraham.
I've been told that Izzy Brown won't be sold by #cfc & is going to join Brighton on loan.#cfc will also hand him a new contract this summer

Both Palmer and Abraham have signed on for Premier League loan moves, with the former re-joining Huddersfield Town and the latter going to Swansea City. Brown thus cannot go to either one of those teams, but he can go to newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion, who had earlier been involved in the Abraham sweepstakes.
Brown has already made his Premier League debut back when he was just 16 and playing for West Brom. He joined Chelsea soon after and has fallen into the usual path there, with success at youth levels followed by multiple loan moves. He’s spent time at Vitesse, Rotherham, and Huddersfield, impressing especially at the latter two last season. A step up to Premier League level will be challenging and risky, but that’s the next logical step for the youngster.
P.S.: If Brown joins Brighton, the options for Premier League loans for the likes of Loftus-Cheek and Baker dwindle once again. Newcastle do look set to walk away with a Chelsea loanee before too long though, so that’s something to keep an eye on as well.
