Recent reports have claimed that Charly Musonda Jr. looked set to follow the likes of Nathan Ake and Dominic Solanke out of Chelsea and find a permanent home elsewhere. Celtic manager and former Chelsea Academy coach Brendan Rodgers is said to be interested in Musonda and is “readying” a £5 million bid for him. That seems to be a rather underwhelming amount of money for a prospect as highly-rated as Musonda in a world where Jordon Ibe went for £15 million — though given that Bertrand Traore was sold for quite cheap as well, Musonda’s proposed fee remains in the realm of possibility (like with Traore, there’s also a matter of a prospective buy-back clause, etc.).
Of course, this is all just paper-talk, certainly for now.
The ever-reliable Kristof Terreur had claimed earlier that Charly was fully focused on pre-season despite the Celtic rumours. And yesterday, Charly’s oldest brother, Lamisha Musonda, who used to be a Chelsea prospect as well but has since dropped out of professional football, took to Instagram to debunk the rumours as well. This narrative is also in accordance with reports earlier in the summer that claimed that Charly was going to stay at Chelsea for the upcoming pre-season and then the season as well after convincing Conte of his abilities.
A message from Lamisha Musonda, Charly Jr's older bro, on Instagram. As I said before: he's still focused on (pre-season with) Chelsea. #cfc pic.twitter.com/mkpM4mRzIO

As you do, then. Until the end of pre-season, at least.
