While Chelsea continue efforts to reinforce the left flank of the defence with Alex Sandro, the Blues may have set sights on his partner in crime during his years in Portugal. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Chelsea and Juventus have made enquiries for Real Madrid right back Danilo.

The Brazilian defender, who can also play on the left, joined Real Madrid from Porto on a €31.5 million transfer in 2015 following three highly successful years in Portugal playing on the opposite flank of Alex Sandro. But unlike Sandro at Juventus, Danilo has failed to live up to expectations in Madrid. His first season was marred by a number of defensive mistakes without much production to show at the other end and while he’s fared better in his second year, he remained far behind Dani Carvajal in the pecking order and still committed some boneheaded errors when he did get to play.

While AS claims that Danilo is all but set to join Juve on a €20 million fee after agreeing upon terms with the club, Marca counters by saying there have been no offers for the player just yet. According to the latter, Madrid are seeking €35 million to let go of the 25-year-old.

Danilo could be an useful option if it were not for the fact that he was a flop at Madrid, not to mention that Chelsea already have a good attacking option at the position in Victor Moses. All in all, just another silly rumour from Silly Season.
