Midfielder Nemanja Matic is keen to leave Chelsea, and all signs point towards an eventual exit from the Bridge this summer. The likeliest destinations have been Manchester United and Juventus, and those two teams continue to alternate as supposed favorites for the 28-year-old’s signature. One day it’s Manchester United, the next it’s Juventus. But so far, Matic has not moved any closer to either, with Chelsea holding firm on the £40-50m asking price.
It was that latter figure that had propelled United into the lead, with Abramovich supposedly sanctioning a deal to Chelsea's rivals despite their recent acquisition of Romelu Lukaku as well. But yesterday, Juventus were put on top again, at least according to Sky Italia (via Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solkehol).
Sky in Italy: Nemanja Matic is main midfield target for Juventus. New talks have been held about signing him from Chelsea

An earlier report from Corriere Dello Sport indicated that Juventus were not willing to meet Chelsea's asking price so it’s unclear if the talks were to lower said price or if Juventus had found some extra money.
Either way, it appears that they were not too successful, because today we’re back to Juventus wanting someone else (Matuidi from PSG, to be specific) and United are back in the lead for Matic. And round and round we go.
