More business incoming from Chelsea — the Loan Army ain’t going to create itself! — as young Kurt Zouma is set to complete his loan move to Stoke City as it’s been rumored for the last few days. In addition, he’s agreed terms on a new four-year contract with Chelsea.
Zouma had initially resisted the idea of going on loan, but it seems he has seen the logic behind the arrangement. So, good news all around!

Zouma was staring the prospect of being sixth choice at Chelsea this season in the face, with new arrivial Antonio Rudiger and loan-returnee Andreas Christensen both slotting in ahead of Big Kurt in the pecking order. Combined with Zouma’s great need for consistent playing time in order to complete his recovery from the ACL tear he suffered last year, the loan move makes plenty of sense. He should be able to win a place at Stoke City under Mark Hughes and come back a much improved player.
Neither the move nor the new contract have been confirmed officially just yet, but surely that’s just a formality at this point.
