Chelsea Academy Player of the Year, Mason Mount, will most likely spend the next season on loan at Vitesse if reports from the Netherlands are to be believed.

De Gelderlander and Telesport somewhat differ in their respective reports, however. De Gelderlander claim that an agreement hasn’t been reached yet, but the intention remains that Mount will be loaned to the Dutch side. They also claim that Mount will visit Vitesse first before confirming the deal, although in that case it might have to wait until after England’s participation in the Under-19 European Championship. Telesport, on the other hand, report that an agreement has in fact been reached and it is just a matter of time before official confirmation from the clubs. Whatever the finer details may be, Mount’s loan to Chelsea’s unofficial affiliates seems to be inching closer and closer.
Vitesse have already signed midfielders Thulani Serero and Thomas Bruns from Ajax and Heracles respectively, and have also been linked with Middlesbrough’s Viktor Fischer. But Valeri Qazaishvili, who spent last season on loan at Legia Warsaw, now looks most likely to be leaving on a permanent basis to San Jose Earthquakes. Mount’s loan deal looks to be a beneficial one for all parties involved and undoubtedly, the 18-year-old will be a quality addition to the Vitesse squad.
