A rumor that we’ve completely ignored over the last few days had Chelsea linked with Napoli’s adorable little magic-man, Lorenzo Insigne.
Why did we ignore it? First, it was from The Sun. If that wasn’t enough, which it was, it also relied on the proviso that Eden Hazard would be sold to Real Madrid, which is a rumor that has died many deaths. Lastly, it floated a price of £45m for the 26-year-old, which sounds like a lot, but these days really isn’t much at all, especially not for one of the most talented players playing in the Serie A, and especially whose future is controlled by mad-genius Aurelio Di Laurentiis.
In short, we ignored it because it was nonsense.
Nevertheless, Insigne’s agent was on a local radio station earlier today, and was asked about The Sun’s rumor. He responded in a manner not all that dissimilar to our reasons why we ignored the rumor in the first place.
“I would start by saying the offer reported in The Sun would be low and he has always been in the sights of many clubs.”
"The priority for Lorenzo, though, is to be wearing the Napoli shirt and be rewarded in an important way by his team. Now he has both and he is happy as well."

Insigne signed a new contract back in April, tying him to his “priority” until 2022.
Insigne to Chelsea? Not happening.
