UPDATE: He may not be flying to London. He may be flying to the USA. Or flying to the USA through London. The rest of the report has not been debunked (yet).

After a brief break, Chelsea and Monaco were apparently back at the negotiating table for Tiemoué Bakayoko, and according to reports out of France, they have finally managed to hash out a deal.
Reports last week talked about Chelsea growing frustrated with the amount of intermediaries we’ve had to deal with, but those issues have now been sorted out, it would seem.

Twelve hours later, “next week” turned into “today”.
REPORT : AS Monaco Tiémoué Bakayoko on his way to London this morning from Nice. Done deal close with a 40M€ bid. Stay tuned. #CFC

The €40m done deal was confirmed by L’Equipe as well (via Metro). With the player flying to London this morning, Chelsea are “hopeful” that the transfer can be officially announced next week. As far as Bakayoko is concerned, he is apparently “enthusiastic” at the prospect of working with Conte at the Premier League champions. I mean, who wouldn’t be, right? (Other than Diego Costa.)
Should Chelsea sign Bakayoko, it surely puts an end to our tenuous pursuit of Corentin Tolisso, who was linked strongly with Bayern earlier this week.
Either way, it sounds like Chelsea’s first major summer signing is close. Very close. It’s happening...
Bakayoko gives up his unwise hard-to-get stance, pushes for Chelsea move, and could be announced midweek. #CFC https://t.co/o8dLOn8Db1 pic.twitter.com/a0YYchi0fo
