Later tonight, Olympique Lyonnais and PSG will contest the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League in Cardiff. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas will be attending in person, but he took a brief detour to London yesterday to meet with Chelsea regarding “something other than women's football”. Those unspecific quotes from Aulas were understood to be about a bid for Bertrand Traoré, but today’s L’Equipe have added a couple more names to the proceedings, including Lyon being interested in a Zouma loan (alongside Nice and Marseille) and Chelsea enquiring about Corentin Tolisso.

Tolisso is a name we joked about making a cheeky bid for after the story of this meeting first broke, so it’s hard to know whether L’Equipe have some concrete inside info or are just making the same logical leap that we (jokingly) did. If it’s the former, that certainly could be the start of something exciting.
The 22-year-old versatile, excellent, complete midfielder is one of the most coveted names in our Summer Transfer Notebook, but rumors have had him linked mostly with Juventus up to this point. Of course, an enquiry is just that, and doesn’t actually indicate a bid or even a chance. But no transfer can start without an enquiry. If nothing else, we’re asking the right questions.
