Bayern ‘increasingly confident’ of signing Alexis Sánchez ahead of Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG, Juventus — report

Alexis probably wouldn’t mind being on the winning end of a 10-2 aggregate score in the Champions League.

According to the Telegraph, potential Chelsea transfer target Alexis Sánchez could end up moving to Germany this summer if (when?) he chooses to not sign a new contract at Arsenal. Bayern are apparently willing to pay over the odds — €65m for a 28-year-old with just one-year left on his contract? — to entice Arsenal to sell.

Arsène Wenger sounded rather positive last week about finding an amicable solution to the contract standoff between his club and their biggest star, but with Arsenal adding another significant defeat to this season’s record in the North London Derby since, their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League and thus convincing Alexis of their winning prospects are looking increasingly unlikely.

Bayern’s interest will surely elicit a reaction from the other horses in the race, like Chelsea (who are supposedly Alexis’s number one choice as well), Manchester City (where former boss Pep Guardiola is trying to figure things out), Juventus (who’ve been ruled out a couple times before), and PSG (because why not PSG), unless of course they’re not interested and this is all just idle media speculation.
