Chelsea set Bertrand Traoré asking price as Lyon look to sign Lacazette replacement

Alexandre Lacazette looks set to leave Olympique Lyonnais this summer, probably to Atlético Madrid but perhaps elsewhere (depending on Atléti’s transfer ban and whether they’d switch targets to Costa now that the Chelsea striker declared his intentions). Either way, Lyon will need a new main striker and one of the names they are looking at is Chelsea youngster Bertrand Traoré.

Traoré was not exactly super happy to go back on loan this year after a Chelsea first-team role the year before and is due to sit down for “a chat” with Chelsea regarding his future now that the season is over. According to the French Transfer Oracle, that future could very well include a transfer, as long as Lyon cough up €20m for the 21-year-old.

That’s certainly not a terrible price for a good but not (yet?) great young striker, especially if it includes a reasonable buy-back clause. A transfer with a buy-back is basically just an extended loan, after all.
