The latest update on the Cesc Fàbregas situation comes from the Evening Standard’s Simon Johnson, who’s been on the forefront of reporting on Cesc’s wants and desires since the beginning of the season. Unsurprisingly, just as in the winter, Fàbregas has apparently no intention of moving away from London in the summer, unlike the recently revived AC Milan rumors have suggested.

As per the report, Cesc is hoping to stay and continue fighting for his place, even as Chelsea look to close in on major reinforcements, such as the Monaco midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko.
Fàbregas has two years left on the five-year contract he signed back in 2014 and could be adding doubling his Chelsea trophy haul with two more titles this season. As one of the highest, if not the highest paid player in the squad, he has thus every financial and competitive reason to stay. While Chelsea could probably put £30m to good use — a fairly outrageous transfer fee, it must be said — if Fàbregas can continue making the same impact off the bench next season as he has been making this season, then having him as an option in the squad could remain just as beneficial as well.
