With 26 goals in his first year of professional football, Tammy Abraham has proven himself quite capable of scoring at Championship level and should now be ready to for a Premier League challenge. He may not quite be ready for a place in the Chelsea first-team — though he is more than ready for a new contract — other options are already on the table for him.
According to the Daily Mail, Championship runners-up Brighton & Hove Albion are interested in the 19-year-old’s services for their Premier League campaign next season, joining the likes of Everton and Leicester City in keeping tabs on the situation. Leicester had already made a £10m bid in January, but Chelsea were not interested in selling then, and certainly aren’t interested in selling now.
According to the report, if Brighton are unable to secure Abraham on loan, they could still look to mine Chelsea for talent and instead give Ruben Loftus-Cheek a temporary home. RLC has been training with Conte this whole season but has made just 11 appearances, averaging 30 minutes per, this season. Both Tammy and RLC could use regular minutes for their individual development, though as two of the best players to come out of the Academy in recent years, their development is even more crucial and significant as far as we should be concerned.
