The international break tends to sprout all sorts of random transfer rumors, and while the vast majority of those have concerned themselves with Lukaku or Sánchez or Hazard or Morata or the latest young star out of Monaco, a couple weeks ago there was a slightly more off the wall story floated by sources in France, claiming that Chelsea had made a €60m bid for Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman.

Bayern have the option to make Coman’s two-year loan move from Juventus permanent this summer, but the 20-year-old has not had the same impact this season than the last, leading to some questions whether the German champions-elect will choose to exercise it. The Chelsea rumors were perhaps a part of the usual attempts of gaining leverage by one side or another in these negotiations. If that’s the case, they appear to have been successful, as Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti is adamant that Coman will remain at the club.
“Kingsley Coman will stay at Bayern next season. He is important for the future.”

Presumably the €60m bid, if there ever was one, was thus rejected. Oh well. Next!
