By the looks of it, Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessié will not stay be staying in Bergamo much longer, with several clubs from Italy and abroad expected to be vying for his signature in the next transfer window.
Serie A club AS Roma seemed to have taken the lead in the negotiations for Kessié's services, with recent reports claiming that they may have even already agreed to the €40 million asking price from Atalanta for the player. However, Italian newspaper L’Eco di Bergamo (via Calciomercato) claims that Kessié's agent George Atangana does not want his client to join Roma, which could pose a problem when it comes to negotiating the personal terms. Perhaps in light of clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea also showing interest on his client, the deal is yet to be closed.
This could open a window of opportunity for other clubs to join in on the negotiations, although the €40 million price tag might be too steep for a player such as Kessié. Still, it is the price we will have to pay if we want him at Stamford Bridge next season...
