Romelu Lukaku could just be winding up the media and fans, but the fact does remain that he still hasn’t signed his new contract at Everton, which he was supposed to do last summer, then last September (99 per cent!), then in January.
Talking with Belgian journalists this weekend following Everton’s 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, in which he scored his 19th goal of the season to once again bring him level with Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot, Lukaku apparently answered every question with ‘no’, including the ones about his contract.
Are you going to sign that new contract?

- Lukaku: "No."
Are you still reflecting about it?
- RL: "No."
Is there an agreement?

He apparently says all this with a smile on his face, either amusing himself with his own prank, or truly divulging a few hints regarding his non-Evertonian future.
He's smiling when he answers the first question in Dutch. Press officer at his side. But... let's see what happens in the coming days.

Since moving to Everton from Chelsea, Lukaku’s done nothing but score lots of goals and continue to make regular waves in the rumor mill. It’s generally accepted that his long-term future lies away from Everton, but could that future involve a return to Chelsea, even? Stranger things have happened...
For now, Chelsea are well set at center forward with Diego Costa hogging all the minutes and Michy Batshuayi chipping in with brief cameos. But if the former does leave in the summer, Chelsea will need to spend and spend big on the position. Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Lukaku have been the two names suggested most strongly as potential replacements.
Hmmm...
