Following Ademola Lookman's transfer from Charlton Athletic to Everton for £10m last month, another talented youngster from the League 1 club is gathering interest from top clubs in the country. According to the London Evening Standard, 18-year-old defender Ezri Konsa is on the radar of big clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Konsa has already made 24 appearances for the club across all competitions this season — 23 as a starter. Employed mostly as a centre back, the versatile youngster is also able to feature as a right back or in central midfield.

Charlton did not allow Konsa to leave the club in January after losing Lookman, and they’re hoping they won’t have to in the future either. According to Charlton chief executive Katrien Meire, the club's ambition in the long term is to be in a position where prospects such as Konsa are not easily poached by Premier League teams

"We have a fantastic academy here and it is testament to everyone at the club that Charlton continues to develop high-quality young players. Our long-term ambition is that we get ourselves into a position where our talented young players, even when there is interest from Premier League clubs, want to stay with us."

However, with Charlton currently sitting at 11th place in the League One, such a scenario is unlikely to happen in a short while. So, Ezri Konsa, remember the name.
