After winning the U20 World Cup with England in the summer and spending the first half of the season training with the first-team, Jake Clarke-Salter is set for his second loan move. According to ESPN, the 20-year-old is close to joining Championship club Nottingham Forest for the rest of the season.

Clarke-Salter, an Academy standout and three-time winner of the FA Youth Cup, had his first loan spell at League One Bristol Rovers alongside teammate Charlie Colkett last season. He played 13 games for them in an injury-shortened season before returning to Chelsea and putting pen to paper on a four-year extension in July.

At the moment Nottingham Forest stand in 11th place in the Championship with 30 points from 22 games — only 7 points behind 6th-place Sheffield United and a spot in the promotion playoffs. Clarke-Salter may very well become a key piece in helping Forest achieve those aims.
