Brazilian champions Corinthians reject Chelsea wing-back loan offer — report

Wallace Oliveira's life has not been easy since moving to Chelsea in early 2013. Arriving as an 18-year-old from Fluminense, the wing-back has collected several failed loan moves in both Europe and Brazil in the four years since (Inter, Vitesse, Carpi, and most recently Grêmio), and his fortunes don’t look to be improving anytime soon.

According to Brazilian radio station Bandeirantes, Wallace, whose last loan ended in June but has made no appearances for the Chelsea reserves since, was recently offered by the club on a free loan to Corinthians, whom we might remember from the 2012 Club World Cup final. But the reigning Brazilian champions rejected the offer from the Blues despite their need for a back up to right back Fagner.

From a technical point of view, it makes sense that Corinthians would not deem Wallace a player capable of backing up Fagner, given the 23-year-old's failure to impress in his 18-month loan spell with Grêmio. But this once again raises questions about Wallace's career management, which has been a bit of a shambles (to put it mildly) for quite a while.
