Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has had a few chances to impress in the first-team over the past year and a half, but now the 20-year-old might be on the verge of leaving the club on loan to try to guarantee more consistent playing time. According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will hold talks with the youngster over a potential move after today’s FA Cup third round match against Peterborough.
Premier League clubs such as Middlesbrough, Swansea City, Stoke City, Watford and West Ham have all been supposedly monitoring Loftus-Cheek's status. Championship side Brighton and Bundesliga team Borussia Mönchengladbach, which currently hosts Loftus-Cheek's Academy teammate Andreas Christensen in their ranks, have also been linked, though Chelsea might prefer a Premier League destination.
Loftus-Cheek is set for his third start of the season today, against Peterborough in the FA Cup. His performance just might be a clue as to whether he stays with Chelsea for the rest of the season, or joins the Loan Army. Tough to know what the best decision might be to best nurture his talents, but a best decision must be made.
