As usual, Chelsea are expected to be busy during the winter transfer window, as usual, none more so than in terms of loanee movements.
We’ve already seen Marco van Ginkel and Jay Dasilva leave on loan in the first few days of January, and they should soon be joined by Charlie Colkett and Izzy Brown. Both Brown and Colkett have been on loan already (unlike the previous two), but it would appear that they will be reassigned.
Earlier today, Bristol Rovers confirmed that Chelsea recalled Colkett, who had stopped featuring in manager Darrell Clarke’s plans over the past month — Colkett had made just one start and five total appearances since the first of November. He finished his six months at Rovers with three goals and two assists in fifteen appearances (eight starts).
"Charlie [Colkett] will be returning to Chelsea with our best wishes and thanks for his efforts whilst he has been with us. A popular member of the squad, I feel sure that he has the ability to forge a very good career in the game."

Where Colkett may go next is not yet known, but fellow loanee Izzy Brown looks to be heading to Huddersfield Town, to join up with Kasey Palmer and they attempt to push for promotion to the Premier League.
Brown had been one of the better players at Rotherham, who are rock bottom of the division and have basically confirmed their relegation already, and has thus attracted interest from a few teams above them in the table. There are rumors that Huddersfield might be looking to sell the disappointing Harry Bunn; or at least are looking to upgrade that position. Brown had three goals and five assists in the first half of the season.
Meanwhile, Chelsea themselves made a signing, snapping up 18-year-old center back Kyle Jameson on an 18-month contract. Jameson had been without a club and that’s just about all we know about him at the moment.
And there was contract news for two players already in the academy as well, with the U18s leading goalscorer, Martell Taylor-Crossdale and starting goalkeeper, Jamie Cumming both signing their first professional deals with the club. Congrats to them both!
Cumming was straight back into action alongside second half sub MTC as Chelsea U18 smashed Swansea City U18 5-0 in league action earlier today. Chelsea are seven points clear at the top of the South division in the first phase of the league. (The eventual winners qualify for next year’s UEFA Youth League.)
