Towering German defender Niklas Süle had been the subject of interest from several clubs including Chelsea and Bayern Munich over the past year. With plenty of good options to choose from for his next destination, he quite boringly decided to stick to the Bundesliga, agreeing to move to Bayern at the end of the season for a typically discounted fee of just £17.5 million. It’s good to be the king Bayern.
In an interview with Sky Sports Deutschland (via London Evening Standard), Süle explained the reason behind his decision to stay in Germany instead of going to Premier League.
"I did a lot of thinking with my family and friends and decided that moving to England wasn’t the right step yet. I had good talks with Bayern and it’s a unique chance that I want to take advantage of.

Speaking to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport last month, Süle said that he would prefer to play in the Premier League over seeing himself at one of the Milan clubs in the Serie A. But Bayern know how to attract domestic talent, so Süle's “change of heart” is more than understandable. Perhaps in the future we might see him on a Premier League pitch — hopefully in a Blues shirt, even.
