Most outstanding former Premier League manager Tim Sherwood has been the Director of Football at Swindon Town for just about two months. His task: help them stay up in League One. The Robins are currently in 19th, just four points above the relegation zone.
“He’s connected with every single top club in the country and has got a fantastic reputation of working with young players and getting the best out of them, so I should think that Tim will have as many people approaching him as he’s approaching other people. So there should be lots of networking going on and that’s fantastic for us.”
“I’m very confident we’ll have players in. I, as always, don’t get involved heavily in that side of things. I trust people at the club whose job it is to bring players in and that will happen – I’ve got no doubt.”

The Swindon head coach’s faith in Sherwood has been rewarded today with no less than three (3!) Chelsea youngsters arriving on loan, though one of them is Islam Feruz, so good luck with that.
The jewel of the trio is undoubtedly Charlie Colkett, who had been playing quite well (though not quite a lot) for fellow League One outfit Bristol Rovers in the first half of the season before getting recalled and reassigned.

Joining him is occasional youth captain Fankaty Dabo, a versatile and strong defender and wing-back, on his first loan assignment.
At the mid-season #CFCDev break, it's clear that Fankaty Dabo and Jay Dasilva are the players most in need of a loan/senior football now.

And then there’s Islam Feruz, who’s continuing his quest to rediscover his once great promise. This will now be his fifth loan in the last 2.5 years, sixth if you count the 48 hours he spent in the Russian Second Division. Feruz was playing in Belgium in the first half of the season, making eight appearances (two starts) for Mouscron.

Elsewhere, Alex Kiwomya has extended his stay at Crewe Alexandra for the rest of the season, while (currently injured) young Brazilian winger Nathan is back at least temporarily from Vitesse.
