When you're a kid, the prospect of defending the crest and the shirt of your favorite football club feels like the stuff of dreams. Romelu Lukaku got to live that dream once already, only to see it destroyed in a sequence of events that is still hotly debated to this day. Regardless pf that, as the latest rumors would have us believe, Romelu Lukaku doesn't want to miss out on this opportunity twice.
According to the London Evening Standard, the 23-year-old is still keen on returning to Stamford Bridge, in spite of his current club Everton's incoming improved contract offer.
Once agent Mino Raiola is done wrapping up the last details of #POGBACK (ugh), he's then expected to turn his full attentions to catering to the latest wishes of Lukaku, which apparently have swung back in Chelsea's favor. Meanwhile, Everton are not expected to loosen their grip on the Belgian striker, but are reportedly willing to offer him a new £135,000-per-week deal.
Hopefully this is all just Raiola ensuring that his client gets max pay at Everton. Chelsea signing another striker would be a questionable move at best, especially with the dire need for reinforcements in defense ahead of the new season.
