Cancel the statue order and the plans to rename the new Stamford Bridge stadium the Big Papy Arena. Papy Djilobodji, the man, the myth, the legend, has been sold to Sunderland.
Djilobodji had spent the second half of last season on loan at Werder Bremen before joining back up with the Blues for preseason training in Austria. He was not included on the USA Tour, to dispel any misguided notion that he might stay with the team this season.

The reported fee for this tragic, universe-shaking transfer is £8m, which is amazing considering that Chelsea paid less than £3m to grab the Senegalese center back from Nantes last summer.
So, Djilobodji moves on after just 1 minute of competitive match action for Chelsea. Oh but what a minute it was! Never forget.
Farewell, legend. We'll always have your song.
