Chelsea ready to meet Fiorentina's demands over defender — report

Spanish full back (and winger and occasional center back) Marcos Alonso first entered the Chelsea rumor mill a few days ago, but with time running out, Chelsea would need to move quickly if we are try to secure his signature from Fiorentina.  Accordingly, here comes a report that the Blues would be willing to meet the Italian club's demands.

The former Real Madrid prospect has been plying his trade in Italy for most of the past two seasons, and gathered quite a few plaudits for his play last season in the famous purple shirt.  His asking price's claimed to be €25m, which sounds like a lot, but given today's market, not to mention, the timing, it's almost reasonable.  Which is perhaps why Chelsea would be willing to meet these demands, at least according to Marca.

With not much positive movement surrounding Chelsea's other defensive targets, this might be the best we can do.  Alonso is likely to feature for Fiorentina in a couple hours as they take on Chievo.  Should he not be in the lineup, this rumor might quickly escalate even further.
