Since the start of his professional career in 2009 at Reading, Michael Hector has been on loan in 12 occasions. He's now set to take his 13th: Chelsea confirmed today that the 24-year-old will be joining Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt on loan.

Yesterday, Hector was seen at the Frankfurt Airport being picked up by Eintracht's team manager Christoph Preuß. He returned to Chelsea from a loan spell at Reading at the end of April alongside Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Piazon, as the Royals' season was effectively over at the time. There were also rumours that Hector was in line to have a shot at our first team this season, as he is supposedly held in high regard by technical director Michael Emenalo.
With Hector out of Cobham, now Chelsea have a vacant spot at the centre of the defence that probably won't be filled until our game against West Ham at the earliest. But we still hope that this is a calculated move, and that we have at the very least a capable back up set to take the post. Otherwise, we could be in deep trouble ...
