Despite being turned down repeatedly by Napoli, Chelsea are still hopeful of acquiring our primary defensive target, Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the current transfer window. Whether that's just blind hope and optimism, or perhaps a real chance will be known soon, as according to Koulibaly's agent Bruno Satin, the player's future should be sorted in the coming days.
"Although our discussions at the moment are confidential, we will be able to announce something in the next few days, two or three days."

Koulibaly has reportedly drawn interest from other Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Everton, but only Chelsea have followed through with official bids for the player. The latest attempt from the Blues, a €50 million offer, was rejected by Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis, who wants the player to stay at the club. In his effort to retain Koulibaly's services, Laurentiis offered an improved new contract to the player.
We'll see this week if Koulibaly has chosen to sign the new contract and stay (likely) or chosen to leave anyway (unlikely). Obviously, we'll be rooting for the second outcome.
