And another Chelsea prospect joins the 2016-17 Loan Army. The Blues have announced today that 20-year-old forward Alex Kiwomya has joined League Two side Crewe Alexandre on a loan deal until January 9.
Kiwomya, who signed a new one-year deal earlier this month, has been at Chelsea since 2010, joining the team from the youth ranks of Rotherham United. The pacy wing-forward made his debut for the U18 team in the 2010-11 season, and has gone on to make 119 appearances in our youth teams, scoring 35 goals overall.
This will be Kiwomya's third loan move: the first was to Barnsley on a two-month spell in the 2014-15 season; and the second to Fleetwood Town last term, in which he stayed at the club for a month.
The English striker and former U19 international joins a Crewe Alexandra side that is looking to recover from their relegation to League Two after finishing last in League One with 34 points in 46 matches.
Best of luck to young Kiwomya (former Ipswich standout Chris Kiwomya's nephew); may he do well enough to get his loan deal extended until the end of the season.
