It's happened. The second Chelesa signing of the summer transfer window is done, and it's quite a big one, addressing perhaps the greatest need in the squad, midfield.
Premier League Champion N'Golo Kante has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Blues. Chelsea beat out interest from several other teams, including a massive bid from China and a new big contract offered by Leicester.
Based on a £30m transfer fee and a five-year deal at £150,000 per week, N'Golo Kante will cost Chelsea £13.8m per year. Well worth it. #cfc— Jake Cohen (@JakeFCohen) July 16, 2016
Afterwards, the 25-year-old spoke of his happiness and his desire to build on last year's success at Leicester City with further sustained success at Chelsea.
"I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It's a dream come true for me."
"The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down."
"My first season in English football was very special and now I hope to go on to achieve even more during my time as a Chelsea player. I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and helping the club achieve a lot of success."
