Ladies and gentlemen, it's happening.
What started as a few stray reports in France weeks and months ago, vehemently denied by sources closer to Leicester for almost as long, has now turned into a deluge of echoing confirmations from all sides. N'Golo Kante to Chelsea is happening.
N'Golo Kante deal from Leicester City to Chelsea understood to have been completed for £30m. More to come @TeleFootball— Sam Wallace (@SamWallaceTel) July 15, 2016
Even the Leicester Mercury, the last bastion of local hopes has joined the party.
Just landed to the news on Kante. Unfortunately, it is true and a deal could be conpleted in the next few days. Sad but #LCFC move on— Rob Tanner (@RobTannerMerc) July 15, 2016
RMC and France Football led the way this morning after L'Equipe's report last night got people excited. That proved a bit premature (they were just re-reporting the Le Parisien scoop from earlier this week), but that hardly matters now. It's happening, and it's happening soon.
Looks like N'Golo Kante is, or very soon will be, a Chelsea player. Question numero uno for Antonio Conte in Vienna tomorrow. Ciao for now.✈— Dan Levene (@danlevene) July 15, 2016
When Antonio Conte said Chelsea will be making new signings "in the coming days", he may not have meant that just as a turn of phrase, but as an actual and literal expectation and timeline.

Kante's still on post-Euro vacation, but he's expected to undergo a medical very soon and then eventually join up with the Chelsea squad who jetted off to Austria tonight for training camp.
Welcome, N'Golo Kante. It's an exciting time to join.
