Despite the wooing from Chelsea's Belgian contingent and the wooing from new manager Antonio Conte as well as the wooing from the significant raise on offer, AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan will stay at the club this summer. In an interview given to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma manager Luciano Spalletti claimed that Nainggolan has promised him to keep playing for the club.
"He's promised me that he's going to stay here. He wants to carry on playing in the position where he's playing under me."

Considering that he made his name in the Italian capital and the fact that Miralem Pjanic's departure to Juventus gives Roma a way to afford wages at the very least comparable to what Chelsea are offering, Nainggolan's choice to stay is quite reasonable. And expected, too, given all that's been said recently. Let's hope Chelsea have some other transfer targets in mind as well.
