Chelsea's top two targets as far as midfield reinforcements are concerned are both getting harder to acquire by the minute. Following Sunday's statement of intent regarding Radja Nainggolan from AS Roma's leadership, here come Leicester City to offer their midfield dynamo N'Golo Kante a new and improved contract that they hope will persuade him to stay with the club and continue their unlikely fairy tale in next season's Champions League.

This puts Kante and his £20m buyout in a similar situation to Jamie Vardy, who's supposedly mulling over an offer from Arsenal. The Telegraph surmises that if one stays, the other will as well, but if one goes, the other will, too. All for one, one for all, just like The Three Musketeers. Cue the music, Sir Roderick!
