According to Russian "internet newspaper" Vesti, Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow will offer Loïc Rémy an escape route from Chelsea. The 29-year-old backup striker has two years left on his Chelsea contract, but after a decent first season, has become a rather useless part of the squad. And that's saying something, considering we've also had the likes of Radamel Falcao (who has confirmed that the will be starting the new season with Monaco) and Alexandre Pato on loan at the club.
Spartak apparently tried to get Rémy in January as well, but for whatever reason (injury or simply an unsubstantiated story?) that move never materialized. So now Spartak will try again and will even get to try at a 50% discount: £14m offer rumored in January, now looking at just £7m. I'm not sure we care too much.
The report also claims that two unnamed Chinese clubs are interested as well. Hopefully one of these three teams will take the disappointing and oft-injured striker off our hands.
