According to Brazilian outlet Lance!, Chelsea are looking to return Alexandre Pato to Brazil before the season comes to a close. The bar for Pato was set very, very low when the striker arrived in January, but even the most pessimistic of Blues fans would have likely expected that the player would have debuted by this point.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Pato has struggled to get up to pace, as he wasn't in mid-season shape. Of late, however, it appears that the player hasn't done a whole lot to impress in training, apparently falling behind both Bertrand Traore and Loic Remy on Chelsea's striking depth chart.
In all honestly, Pato's wage is nothing to worry about for a club with the resources Chelsea have, but with the Blues nine remaining matches having absolutely no meaning, there's just no reason not to send him back to Corinthians if they have no intention of using him. At this point, getting Traore or even Tammy Abraham some Premier League minutes would be infinitely more valuable than finding a cameo for Pato, so we might as well let him get back to somewhere that has an actual interest in letting him show what he can do.
